Gun Transfers

R&L Archery provides transfers for internet sales, as well as shipping and transfers for in-state and out-of-state personal sales. With knowledge of the gun laws, we are able to help you secure your registrations, titles, and transfers the right way.

For transfers into the state, we can fax or e-mail our license to the dealer shipping the firearm, or you can download it here: R&L Archery’s FFL.

Vermont’s gun laws require a federal background check be performed (completion of Form 4473 at an FFL-licensed premise) for private firearm transfers between individuals other than immediate family. (“Immediate family member” means a spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, stepsibling, grandparent, stepgrandparent, grandchild, stepgrandchild, great grandparent, step-great grandparent, great grandchild, and step-great grandchild).

Vermont’s 72-hour waiting period applies to purchases and all transfers. The 72 hours begins upon completion of the federal background check, which can only begin after the firearm has arrived at R&L Archery.
